Trends in Prescription Drug Abuse
Pharmaceutical Drug Abuse is a growing trend in America and according to the latest CASA study, 60 percent of American addicts are addicted to pharmaceutical drugs. Drug users will do just about anything to get high, from stealing from medicine cabinets, writing or altering their own prescriptions, and armed pharmacy robberies. This course will explore the new drug epidemic in the medicine cabinet. It will look at the drugs of abuse and the physiological and psychological effects of each drug. It will discuss how the drugs are acquired, distributed and used by the end consumer. It will also discuss over-the-medications and how these medications are abused and the signs and symptoms present with abuse.
